Africa is not one market and quoting it as one is how orders go wrong. Drive side flips between West and East, charging infrastructure ranges from none to a working public network, and homologation requirements differ sharply by country. We quote per destination rather than per region.
- Left hand drive for West and North Africa; right hand drive for East and Southern Africa, subject to GAC building it for the model
- Public DC charging is thin outside major cities, so we specify the wall box as part of the order rather than an afterthought
- Container shipping is the default — RoRo handling damage is harder to claim for at several ports in the region
- Ethiopia, Kenya and Nigeria account for most of our African volume; we know the clearance requirements at those three well
